Phyllis Kirk, festival clinician and conductor, completed her undergraduate degree at Oklahoma Baptist University and did graduate studies at Oklahoma University. She has served on the National Board of the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers, Inc., as Area Chair and as Activities Chair.

Phyllis serves as Director of Music at Shades Valley Presbyterian Church, Birmingham, Alabama, directing a nine-choir program of music ministry which includes three handbell choirs, four choral choirs, and two recorder consorts.

She has served as handbell clinician and conductor for State, (including 39 states) Area, and National Festivals. She has also served as an instructor for Directors’ seminars throughout the United States and also in Canada and Australia, having taught classes which include: Bells and Chimes in Motion; Bells in Worship; Working with Adults; Bells and Recorders; Beginning Directors; and Instant Composing.
