Arnold B. Sherman, currently living in Tyler, Texas, is a free-lance composer, co-founder of Red River Music, and Music and Arts Director at First United Methodist Church in Henderson, Texas. His undergraduate work in Music Education was done at Montgomery College, Rockville, Maryland, and Baylor University, Waco, Texas. Arnold is the founder and Director of the East Texas Handbell Ensemble, a community handbell choir located in the Tyler area. In frequent demand as clinician and guest conductor, he has led numerous choral and handbell workshops, festivals and reading sessions throughout the United States, Canada, England, Japan and the Bahamas. Arnold has numerous choral and handbell pieces in print, and has been the recipient of an ASCAP Standard Award each of the last seven years. An active member of the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers, he is Past Chairman of Area IX.
